Sweetwater Price Match Policy, Explained
Sweetwater's published promise is Price Protection, covering a drop in its own price within 60 days; its help pages set no rule for matching other stores.

Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Sweetwater's Price Protection page, its Help Center and its Terms of Use, read on October 26, 2026. Those pages are the ones that apply; check them, or ask Sweetwater, before you buy.
Does Sweetwater price match?
Sweetwater's pages answer a narrower question. What it publishes is Price Protection: if Sweetwater's own price on an item drops after you buy, it will cover the difference. We found no page on sweetwater.com that sets out rules for matching a lower price from another store. The Help Center lists topics for shipping, returns, ordering, product types and service, and none of them is a competitor price match.
So there is no published list of approved competitors, no published proof rule and no published exclusions. If you see a lower price elsewhere, the only route the site offers is to talk to Sweetwater, and the outcome is not covered by any written policy we could find.
How Price Protection works
| Question | What Sweetwater says |
|---|---|
| What it covers | A drop in Sweetwater's own price |
| How long after you buy | Within 60 days of the purchase |
| When to ask | While the lower price is still available |
| Who to contact | Your Sweetwater Sales Engineer |
| What you get | The difference between the two prices |
Two details matter. The 60 days count from your purchase, and the lower price must still be live when you contact Sweetwater, so a short sale that ends before you call may not qualify. Keep an eye on the product page for a few weeks after a big order.
Prices can change at any time
Sweetwater's Terms of Use say it may change prices on the site at any time without notice, and that it does not promise the prices shown are always accurate. It is one more reason to check the price again after you buy.
Lower prices on the same site
If the goal is simply to pay less for musical instruments, Sweetwater's own Help Center describes other kinds of stock worth comparing with new:
- Certified Open Box: items that were out of the box for videos, events or studio use, or briefly with a customer. Sweetwater says they are tested to new specs by factory-authorized technicians and carry its 2-year warranty.
- B-stock: gear bought from the manufacturer, usually repacked or refurbished units, which Sweetwater suggests for shoppers on a budget, also with Sweetwater's 2-year warranty.
- Used gear: Sweetwater says nearly all of it was first bought new from Sweetwater.
Before you ask
- Note the date of your order; the Price Protection window is 60 days.
- Check that the lower Sweetwater price is still showing on the product page.
- Contact your Sales Engineer with the item and order details.
- For another store's price, ask directly and get any answer in writing, since no published policy backs it up.
