Apple Student Discount and Education Pricing
Apple's Education Store lowers starting prices for college students, their parents and teachers, often by $100 on a Mac, with yearly limits per product.

Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Apple's US Education Store and its Education Terms and Conditions, read on October 26, 2026. The official pages are the ones that apply.
Who gets Apple education pricing
Apple's education terms cover people in the United States and Puerto Rico:
- College students, both current and newly accepted.
- Parents buying for a child who attends or has been accepted to college.
- College faculty and staff.
- K-12 employees of public or private schools, homeschool teachers, serving school board members and serving PTA or PTO officers.
High school students are not on the list; their parents qualify only once the student is headed to college. Apple's help pages say student and staff status is checked through UNiDAYS, a third-party site.
How much you save
Apple does not publish one discount rate. We compared the starting prices shown on the regular Apple Store page and the Education Store page on October 26, 2026:
| Product | Apple Store, from | Education Store, from | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| MacBook Neo | $699 | $599 | $100 |
| MacBook Air | $1299 | $1199 | $100 |
| MacBook Pro | $1999 | $1899 | $100 |
| Mac mini | $899 | $799 | $100 |
| iPad Pro | $1199 | $1099 | $100 |
| iPad Air | $749 | $699 | $50 |
| Apple Watch Ultra 4 | $799 | $719 | $80 |
| Apple Watch Series 12 | $399 | $359 | $40 |
Apple also says students and educators can save up to 10% on AppleCare+ for a new Mac or iPad, and it offers a student rate on Apple Music (with Apple TV included) and Apple Creator Studio at $2.99 a month for new subscribers. Apple notes that not every product has education pricing.
Yearly limits
Each eligible buyer can buy only so much per year at education prices, counted across apple.com, Apple Stores and campus resellers:
| Product | Per year |
|---|---|
| Desktop Mac, Mac mini, MacBook, display | 1 each |
| iPad | 2 |
| Apple Watch | 1 |
| Accessories | 2 |
The purchases are for personal use, not for a school or for resale. Apple says it audits education orders, and if a buyer did not qualify it can charge the difference up to the regular price.
Paying and returning
Unlike most special Apple stores, the Education Store allows Apple Card Monthly Installments: Macs and iPads were listed over 12 months at 0% APR. Trade-in credit can also be used.
Returns follow the normal Apple rule: 14 days from the day you receive the product, in original condition with all parts and packaging. See our Apple return policy guide.
The back-to-school deal
When we checked on October 26, 2026, Apple's back-to-school web address led to the regular Education Store, and no back-to-school offer was listed. The savings above are what the store showed that day; check the Education Store page before you buy, since offers change.
