BJ's Return Policy, Explained
Consumer sites report that BJ's takes most items back within a year and electronics within 90 days; alcohol, tobacco, gift cards and trading cards are final.

Store policies change. BJ's Wholesale Club's own return pages would not load for us on October 27, 2026, so the facts below are as reported by Mashed (July 2026) and SuperMoney (updated October 2026). Where they agree, we say so; where only one of them gives a rule, we name it. Confirm the policy with BJ's at bjs.com or at the club before you return anything.

Electronics are the main exception to the one-year window, so keep your receipt and the box for at least 90 days on a TV or a laptop.
Items you cannot return
Both sources list alcohol, tobacco, gift cards and trading cards as final sale. Mashed adds opened DVDs and video games, opened massage chairs, and special-event or final-sale items. SuperMoney adds that custom and special-order items may not be returnable or may carry a restocking fee, and that items sold by third-party sellers on BJ's Marketplace follow those sellers' policies.
Receipts and online orders
SuperMoney reports that BJ's asks for proof of purchase, and that for online orders the order confirmation or packing slip works. It also reports:
- Online orders can go back to any BJ's club with the packing slip or digital receipt.
- Eligible online items can be shipped back with a prepaid label within 30 days.
- Refunds go to the original payment method, and items paid with a BJ's gift card are refunded to a BJ's gift card.
- Refunds for shipped returns post 3 to 5 business days after BJ's receives the item.
Mashed did not cover these points, so treat them as one source's summary and check them with BJ's.
How BJ's compares

- Bring the item with its box, manuals and accessories to the membership desk.
