Costco Price Adjustment, Explained
If a Costco price drops within 30 days of your purchase, you can ask for the difference; online orders use a form, warehouse buys go to the returns counter.

Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Costco's customer service answer on price adjustments for Costco.com orders, read on October 26, 2026. Costco titles the page "Price Match", but it covers price drops on Costco's own items, not prices at other stores. The official page is the one that applies; check it before you file a request.
The 30-day rule
If an item you bought from Costco goes down in price within 30 days of the purchase date, you can ask Costco for the difference. Three limits sit on top of that:
| Situation | What Costco says |
|---|---|
| Regular price drop | Eligible if it happens within 30 days of purchase |
| Item on a dated promotion | Ask within 30 days of purchase and while the promotion is still running |
| Item with a promotional quantity limit | Only up to the limit quantity |
| Resellers | Must buy during the promotion dates to get the promotional price |
| Precious metals | Not eligible for a price adjustment or any promotion |
Costco keeps the right to deny any request, and it says future limits would be shown at the point of purchase.
What Costco will not match
- Other retailers. Costco does not match prices from any other business.
- Warehouse prices on online orders. A Costco.com purchase is not adjusted down to the warehouse shelf price, because online prices include shipping and handling that warehouse prices do not.
So the comparison is always Costco against Costco, in the same channel you bought from.
How to get a Costco price adjustment
- Costco.com orders. Use the Request a Price Match button linked from the customer service answer and fill in the form. First check whether the promotional price was already taken off your order; Costco links a separate answer on that. Approved credits usually reach your original payment method in 5 to 10 business days.
- Warehouse purchases. Go to the returns counter at the warehouse where you bought the item.
- Tires and wheels. Promotions follow the same conditions: online orders use the request button, warehouse purchases go back to the same warehouse.
Special orders and installed products
Special Order Kiosk items and home improvement installed products follow their own rules. Whether a promotion applies depends on the product, the date you signed the contract and the pre-tax price. Extra Costco Shop Card value is limited to requests made from 14 days before to 14 days after the official promotion dates, and those Shop Card offers cannot be stacked with other manufacturer promotions. Costco sends you to your authorized dealer to check whether a project qualifies.
Timing tips around big sales
Costco's 2026 Holiday Savings page runs in dated waves, the first from October 30 to November 15 and another from November 16 to November 30. Because promotional items must be claimed while the promotion is still active, a purchase made just before a wave starts has a short window: the request has to go in during the sale, not after it ends, even if you are still inside 30 days.
- Write down the purchase date and the price you paid.
- Watch the item until 30 days have passed, or until the promotion ends if it is a dated deal.
- File as soon as you see the lower price.
