Does Ace Hardware Price Match? What to Know
Ace Hardware has no chain-wide price match rule we could confirm; most Ace stores are independently owned and set their own policy, so ask your store.

Store policies change. Ace Hardware's main website (acehardware.com) did not load for us on October 26, 2026; it showed a security check instead of the page. So the facts below come from Ace's own newsroom, from one Ace store group's own policy page, and from a SlashGear report published November 19, 2025. Call or visit your local Ace store to confirm its rule before you buy.
The short answer
There is no single Ace Hardware price match policy that we could find. Ace's newsroom says the company has more than 5,000 stores worldwide and that most of them are independently owned and run by local owners. SlashGear reports that this lets each store set its own policies, price matching included. Some Ace stores match competitors, some match only Ace's own website, and some may not match at all.

One example: Rocky's Ace Hardware price match policy
Rocky's Ace Hardware publishes a full price match guarantee. To qualify, the item must be:
- The same brand and model as the competitor's item, at the competitor's current price, advertised or not.
- Sold to the general public at a local retail store.
- New, not limited in quantity, and in stock at the competitor.
Rocky's does not match competitor free items, limited-quantity items, clearance or open-box items, online-only offers, outlet store offers, in-store services, coupons, rebates or gift cards, or pricing typos. A refund of the difference on a past purchase needs the original Rocky's receipt within 30 days of the purchase date.
This is one store group's rule. It does not apply at other Ace stores unless they say so.
How to ask your Ace store for a price match
- Find your store's phone number with the store locator and call before you go.
- Ask whether the store matches competitors, Ace's website, or neither, and which competitors count.
- Ask whether it adjusts the price after you buy, and for how long.
- Have the lower price ready to show, such as the competitor's current ad or product page, showing the same brand and model.
