CVS does not have one set of hours for every store. Each location's opening times, its pharmacy hours and, where there is one, its MinuteClinic hours are listed on that store's page in the CVS store locator. This is a summary in our own words of those pages, read on October 26, 2026. The store's own page is the one that applies.
CVS hours today
To see what time your CVS opens or closes today, search for the store in the CVS store locator. Each store page starts with today's hours for the store, the pharmacy and any MinuteClinic, then lists the full week's hours for each.
What time does CVS open and close?
To see what a typical week looks like, we read the store page of every CVS location listed for one state, Rhode Island. Of the 64 locations listed, 59 showed regular store hours for the whole week.
| Store hours on Monday | Stores |
|---|---|
| Open 24 hours | 10 |
| Opens at 7 AM | 32 |
| Opens at 8 AM | 17 |
| Closes at 10 PM | 35 |
| Closes at 9 PM | 8 |
| Closes at 8 PM | 3 |
| Closes at 11 PM or midnight | 3 |
The most common hours were 7 AM to 10 PM on Monday, Saturday and Sunday alike. The 10 stores open 24 hours on Monday were open 24 hours all seven days.
CVS pharmacy hours are shorter
The pharmacy inside a CVS keeps its own hours. Of the 57 stores whose pages listed both, the pharmacy closed earlier than the store on Monday at 43. Among the 62 Rhode Island locations whose pages showed a full week of pharmacy hours:
| Pharmacy | Most common hours | Next most common |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 9 AM to 8 PM (14 stores) | 8 AM to 8 PM (13 stores) |
| Saturday | 9 AM to 6 PM (30 stores) | Open 24 hours (10 stores) |
| Sunday | 10 AM to 5 PM (16 stores) | 9 AM to 6 PM (12 stores) |
Every one of those 62 pages also said the pharmacy closes for lunch from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM, even at stores open around the clock. If you are picking up a prescription, the pharmacy hours matter more than the store hours.
Pharmacy-only locations
Four of the Rhode Island listings showed pharmacy hours but no store hours. These locations list only a pharmacy, and it closed between 6 PM and 7 PM on weekdays and around 5 PM on weekends.
How we count
We read the CVS store locator pages for Rhode Island on October 26, 2026: the state page, its 35 city pages and the 64 store pages they link to. For each store we took the store and pharmacy hours listed for the week of October 26 to November 1, 2026. One state is a sample, not the whole country; stores elsewhere can keep other hours.
