What time does Home Depot open and close?
There is no single answer for every store. Home Depot's own holiday hours page tells shoppers to look up local hours in the store locator, because opening and closing times vary by location. Its corporate newsroom also gives a store count of 2,364 retail stores at the end of the second quarter of fiscal 2026, spread across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, Canada and Mexico. Hours at a store in a dense city and one in a small town can differ, so treat any hours you see quoted elsewhere as a rough guide only.

- Open the store locator on homedepot.com or in The Home Depot app.
- Search by ZIP code or city and pick your store.
- Read the hours shown for that store, including any holiday change.
The store page is also the place to check before a holiday, since the times below are company-wide plans and a single store can differ.

Two days a year, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, the stores are closed. On the other holidays most stores are open, some for a shorter day.
Shopping when the store is closed
The website and the app stay open when stores are closed, so you can place an order on Thanksgiving or Christmas Day. In its September 29, 2026 holiday announcement, Home Depot said it offers free delivery on more than 2 million items and same-day or next-day delivery on select products. Delivery terms depend on the item and your address, so read them at checkout.
Tips for a holiday trip
- Check the store page the day before; it shows the hours for that store.
- On short days such as Christmas Eve, Independence Day and New Year's Eve, plan your trip around the earlier closing time.
- Black Friday opens at 6 a.m. in 2026. If you are after a specific item, check in the app that your store has it before you leave.
- If you need the Pro Desk or tool rental, ask the store whether those keep the same hours as the main floor.
