Store practices change. This is a summary in our own words of the How We Do It and FAQ pages on homegoods.com, read on October 26, 2026. Those pages and your local store are the ones that apply.
What day does HomeGoods restock?
HomeGoods does not publish a restock day. What it does say is that new merchandise arrives at its stores several times a week, and that a single delivery often holds thousands of items. Its FAQ adds that each store receives thousands of new items every week. So there is no published day of the week when the shelves fill up across the chain; deliveries come in through the week.
If someone tells you a specific weekday is the restock day for every HomeGoods, treat it as a guess. The company's own pages do not back it up.
Why the stock keeps changing
HomeGoods calls itself an off-price retailer. Its buyers shop all year, picking up goods when a designer makes too much, when another store cancels an order, or when a vendor clears out stock at the end of a season. The amount of each find varies: sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. Most of the merchandise is current season, with a small share from past seasons.
That way of buying is why the assortment turns over so fast. It is also why HomeGoods says it does not run the usual promotions, sales or coupons; its pitch is low prices every day instead.
Nothing waits in the back room
Two lines on the How We Do It page matter most for shoppers:
| What HomeGoods says | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| It does not hold replenishment stock in back rooms | If the shelf is empty, there is usually no second one to ask for |
| Store managers typically do not know what is coming until the truck is opened | Staff cannot promise what a delivery will bring |
The company's own advice is simple: if you love it, grab it. An item you leave behind may not come back.
No tracking, no catalog
The FAQ says HomeGoods does not offer a service to track merchandise, and it does not print a catalog because the stock changes too fast for one to keep up. In practice, customer service cannot locate a specific piece for you at another store.
How to time a visit
- Ask your store. Since HomeGoods publishes no chain-wide day, asking staff when trucks usually arrive is the best way to learn your own store's pattern.
- Go often. HomeGoods itself tells shoppers to stop by often to see new finds.
- Check the hours. The FAQ says most stores are open 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with Sunday hours of 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., though some stores differ and holiday hours run longer. Use the store finder on homegoods.com or call the store for exact times.
- Keep your receipt. If a quick buy does not work at home, returns go more smoothly with a receipt, which the FAQ also recommends.
