Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Lowe's installation pages, read on October 26, 2026. Your installed sales contract and the price in your cart are what apply.
Who does the work
Lowe's does not send its own staff to install. It connects you with professional independent installers who, Lowe's says, are licensed, insured and background checked. For appliances, depending on where you live, the job may go to an independent installer or a qualified third-party professional, who calls you after the purchase to confirm an arrival window.
What Lowe's installs
The installation hub lists services for most rooms and the outside of the home:
| Area | Examples Lowe's lists |
|---|---|
| Kitchen | Appliances, cabinets, countertops, backsplashes, sinks and faucets |
| Bathroom | Remodels, vanities, toilets, shower doors, tub modification |
| Flooring | Carpet, hardwood, laminate, tile, vinyl |
| Exterior | Windows, doors, roofing, siding, fencing, sheds, decking, gutters |
| Systems | HVAC, water heaters, water treatment, generators, EV charging, solar |
Appliance installation
You add installation to an eligible appliance when you buy it, along with haul away if you want it. Lowe's says online installation covers select cooktops, dishwashers, garbage disposals, over-the-range microwaves, ranges, range hoods, refrigerators, wall ovens, washers and dryers, and is not offered online in every area. Commercial-grade appliances cannot be booked online.
A few rules from the FAQ:
- Parts the job needs are added to your cart automatically, and old connectors and cords cannot be reused.
- Lowe's installs only where the right hookups already exist.
- Gas installs need an appointment, and the installer checks for leaks once connected.
- An adult 18 or older must be home during the work.
What it costs
Lowe's does not post one price list. The appliance page says pricing varies and can change with your address, and the price shows when you add installation to your cart. It lists work that may cost extra:
- Mileage beyond 20 miles one way from the store
- Permits, where the city requires them
- Haul away and disposal of the old appliance
- Cutting counters for a cooktop
- Venting changes, breaker replacement or minor carpentry
- Access fees for tolls, ferries, buildings or service elevators
If the installer finds hidden problems after removing the old unit, such as worn shut-off valves or code upgrades, more charges can apply.
Assembly
In-store assembly covers items such as grills, fire pits, patio heaters, wheelbarrows and tool chests. Lowe's says the price runs from free to a small fee, and you can pick the item up or have it delivered, with delivery possibly costing extra. In-home assembly covers patio sets and indoor furniture: you choose it at checkout, and an independent installer calls to book a visit after delivery.
Warranty and price guarantee
Lowe's backs installation with a limited labor warranty that lasts one year from job completion for most categories, longer where the law requires. The product keeps its own manufacturer's warranty. Under the Lowest Install Project Price Guarantee, Lowe's says it will match a qualifying lower estimate from another local retailer on a comparable project for a single-family home.
