Best Buy TV and Appliance Installation, Explained
Geek Squad TV setup and mounting starts at $249.99 without the mount; some appliances install free with $39.99 delivery, others cost more.

TV setup and mounting
Best Buy lists its Geek Squad TV Setup and Mounting service as starting at $249.99. Members can sign in to see member pricing. The page lists these steps in the visit:
- A look at your devices and the room.
- Delivery, unboxing and fixing the mount to the TV.
- Hanging it on a standard drywall frame wall.
- Hiding in-wall rated video cables between two studs.
- Hooking up and setting up devices such as a streaming box, a disc player or a cable box, and programming their remotes.
- Connecting the TV to Wi-Fi, running updates and setting up up to two streaming services or profiles.
- Tidying visible cables, removing the packaging and a short demo.
The mount itself is not part of the price, and neither are cables. Best Buy says power cables cannot run inside the wall (it sells an in-wall power kit as an add-on), and mounting above a fireplace or on a decorative surface costs extra. It does not list that extra amount. Moving an old TV to another room is also an extra fee, and Best Buy does not accept a service return once the installation is done.
If you buy a new TV at Best Buy, add the service on the TV's page or at checkout so delivery and mounting are booked together. Very large TVs and special orders may need two separate visits.
Appliance delivery and installation
Delivery only costs $39.99 per major appliance on Best Buy's page. Installation is free for four kinds of appliance, and priced for the rest. A selection of the prices listed, each including delivery:

Parts the install needs are extra: new fill hoses for a washer, a power cord and vent kit for an electric dryer, a power cord for an electric range, and a gas line kit for gas models. Best Buy also lists extra charges for permits, door swing reversal, cabinet or countertop changes and bringing utilities up to code. Every appliance service carries a 90-day workmanship warranty.
Best Buy can also install an appliance you bought elsewhere, but you order it at a store.
Haul-away
Best Buy charges $49.99 to haul away an old TV or appliance when it delivers the replacement. Free appliance installation does not include haul-away. If you do not book installation, disconnect the old unit and clear the space before the team arrives.
