What Day Does Target Restock?
Target publishes no restock schedule; a 2026 study of 2,019 stores found restocks spread evenly across the week, with no day standing out.

Store practices change. Target does not publish a restock schedule, so most of this page reports what third-party sources found in 2026, summarized in our own words on October 26, 2026. They are not Target policy; ask your store about its own pattern.
What Target itself says
Target's help page on out-of-stock items names no restock day or time. It says Target cannot guarantee that a product will be available, cannot hold merchandise, and does not send a notice when an item comes back. For a sale item your store has run out of, it points to a paper rain check instead, and it suggests asking a store team member for help.
Is there a Target restock day?
Not one that holds across the chain. Two 2026 sources agree on this:
- StoreLocators (published September 2026) tracked when Target's website reported items back in stock at 2,019 stores, for 919 products, from June 21 to September 18, 2026. It concluded that Target restocks throughout the week and that no single day stands out.
- SavingsGrove (March 2026) cites no Target schedule, says delivery truck days vary by location, and advises asking a team member for your store's schedule.

An even spread would be about 14.3% a day, so weekdays run a hair high and the weekend a little low, but no day is a clear winner. The study counts the first day an item showed as in stock at a store online, not a shelf count, so a date can be up to a day late.
How long until an item comes back?
StoreLocators also measured how long products stayed out of stock. Half came back within 6 days.

About a fifth were still out after 30 days. When a store was out, another Target within 10 miles had the item 55% of the time, and one within 25 miles 73% of the time.
What time does Target restock?
The sources do not agree on a chain-wide time, and Target names none, so we leave the hour out. Ask the team at your store when their trucks arrive and when shelves get filled.
How to time your trip
- Ask your store. With no chain-wide day, staff are the best guide to their own delivery pattern.
- Check online first. Pick your store on Target.com or in the Target app to see whether an item shows in stock there, and try nearby stores, since the study found one within 10 miles often had it.
- Do not wait for an alert. Target says it sends no back-in-stock notices.
- Ask for a rain check on sale items. If an advertised item is gone, a paper rain check may let you buy it later at the sale price.
