Temu Return Policy, Explained
Temu takes most items back within 90 days, with free return shipping on the first return from each order and $7.99 plus tax for later ones.

Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of the US version of Temu's Return and Refund Policy (marked last updated September 17, 2026), read on October 27, 2026. The official page is the one that applies; check it, and the product page of the item, before you count on a return.
How long you have
Temu says you can return most items within 90 days of purchase. Two things can shorten that:

Once you submit a return request, the package must be postmarked within 14 days, or Temu ends the return. After the window closes, items cannot be returned.
Is return shipping free?
The first return from each order is free, whether it holds one item or several. If you go back to the same order and return more items later, Temu deducts a $7.99 shipping fee plus tax (based on the order's address) from that refund. So pack everything you want to send back from an order into one shipment.
A pickup return may cost extra. Oversized or overweight items, and returns from remote areas, may have to be shipped by you: Temu says you pay first and ask for reimbursement once the items pass inspection. The free label only works for shipping within the United States, not from security-restricted areas such as military bases.
Items you cannot return
- Clothing that has been worn, washed or damaged after delivery, or has lost its tags or hygiene stickers
- Groceries and food (a damaged or defective eligible fresh item can be reported for a refund within 72 hours of delivery)
- Some health and personal care items, free gifts, customized products and underwear orders
How to send it back
- Open Your Orders in the app or on Temu.com (no account: use "Save your Order" in the order email) and choose Return/Refund.
- Pick the items and a reason. Some returns need no shipping at all; you only choose the refund method.
- Use the label or return code Temu gives you, include each item's original barcode, and drop the package at Happy Returns, FedEx, USPS or UPS. Happy Returns needs no packing.
Send the package to the address on Temu's label, not the address on the package you received.
When you get your money
Temu refunds after the items arrive and pass quality inspection. Based on your shopping history, it may refund early: an advance refund after drop-off, or an instant refund before you ship. If items never come back or fail inspection, Temu may charge your payment method again. Used, damaged or incomplete items can get a reduced refund.

Original shipping fees, import tax and insurance are not refunded unless Temu or the seller was at fault. Temu also says it reviews return behavior and may limit return options or accounts it finds abusing returns.
