Walmart Shipping and Delivery Options
Walmart offers free two-day shipping on select items for orders of $35 or more, plus same-day delivery that runs from scheduled windows to 30 minutes.

Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Walmart's own pages: the Ask Walmart answers, its Policies and Guidelines page and its newsroom, read on October 26, 2026. Walmart.com itself shows the options and fees for your address at checkout, and that is what applies.
Free shipping minimum
Walmart's Ask Walmart page says you can get free two-day shipping on millions of select items when the order is $35 or more, with no membership needed. Not every item qualifies, so check the item page.
How long does Walmart shipping take?
That depends on which service you pick. Walmart describes these same-day options in its May 28, 2026 announcement:
| Option | How fast | Where |
|---|---|---|
| 30 minutes or less | Up to 30 minutes | Select markets |
| Express | One hour or less | Where offered |
| On-Demand | In as soon as three hours | Where offered |
| Scheduled | A delivery window you choose | Where offered |
| Standard shipping | Two days on select items, orders of $35 or more | Nationwide |
In December 2025 Walmart said its delivery reached 95% of U.S. households in under three hours.
The 30-minute service
As of May 2026, the 30-minutes-or-less option ran in 33 U.S. markets, including Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Chicago, St. Louis, Atlanta, Tampa and Oklahoma City. It covers more than 100,000 eligible items, from groceries to cold medicine and electronics, and prescriptions too. Walmart lists a $10 fee for Walmart+ members. The option appears in the app as "Delivery in 30 minutes or less" when it is available at your saved address.
Walmart delivery hours
Walmart does not publish one set of delivery hours on these pages; the times you can book show up in the app for your address. The clearest published cutoffs are the holiday ones. For Christmas 2025 Walmart listed:
- Standard shipping: order by 12:30 p.m. local time on December 23 for arrival by Christmas Day.
- Same-day pickup and delivery: order by noon local time on December 24.
- Express: order by 5 p.m. local time on December 24.
We found no 2026 holiday cutoffs in Walmart's newsroom on October 26, 2026, so treat the 2025 times as a guide only.
Who delivers your order
Walmart says it maps delivery zones in small hexagon tiles instead of zip codes, and an order can now be filled from more than one nearby store, with the driver picking up from both. Items from Marketplace sellers are shipped by the seller, who also handles their returns.
Returning something you had delivered
Under the return policy you can send most items back free by mail, book a FedEx pickup, or bring them to a store. Major appliances and freight items cannot go to a store; you start those returns online for a carrier pickup. Perishable online orders are not mailed back; you request the refund in the app or on Walmart.com.
