Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Amazon's Prime Delivery Benefits and Free Shipping pages, read on October 24, 2026. The official pages are the ones that apply.

Prime delivery speeds

Amazon lists these prices for Prime members on eligible items:

Which items qualify

An item gets Prime delivery when its product page and checkout say so. Amazon lists items sold by Amazon.com, many items fulfilled by Amazon, and items from qualified sellers marked as Prime eligible. Items with no Prime message on the product page are not eligible, and neither are items from Marketplace sellers that are not marked as Prime.

For some items fulfilled by Amazon, the Prime page lists free Standard Shipping instead of the faster speeds: items regulated as hazardous materials, and items with special shipping needs such as televisions 48 inches or larger, large treadmills and heavy furniture.

Where it applies

Free Two-Day Delivery covers nearly all addresses in the contiguous US. Same-Day Delivery covers set ZIP codes in some cities, and not commercial addresses. For Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, Amazon lists free Standard Delivery in 3 to 7 business days, with faster speeds for a fee (Expedited Delivery is not offered in Puerto Rico).

Things that change the speed

  • Cutoff times. Each product page shows an ordering cutoff for its delivery date.
  • Business days. Amazon's shipping speeds count business days, unless checkout offers Saturday or Sunday delivery.
  • Quantity. Ordering more units can remove the Same-Day or One-Day option when the units are not all in one place nearby.
  • Big orders. Amazon says orders over $1,300 may need a signature.

Without Prime

Amazon also offers Free Shipping by Amazon on orders that reach a stated minimum of eligible items fulfilled and shipped by Amazon. Sellers that ship their own stock may charge their own shipping fees even when the order is over that minimum.
