Apple Store Pickup, Explained
Order on apple.com, wait for the pickup notice with a QR code, then bring the order number, a government photo ID and the live QR code or Wallet pass.

Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Apple's US Shipping and Pickup help page, the in-store pickup section of its sales policy and its Delivery and Pickup page, all read on October 27, 2026. Checkout shows whether pickup is offered for your items at your store.
How Apple pickup works
You choose an Apple Store at checkout instead of a delivery address. Apple says many products can be picked up in store, but certain products and payment methods do not qualify, so the pickup option may not appear for every order.
- Order: pick the store and, where offered, a time window. You can name another person to collect the order for you.
- Wait for the notice: Apple sends an email and a mobile notification with a QR code when the order is ready. Apple asks you not to come before that notice arrives.
- Go to the store: if you chose a time window, arrive within it.
- Collect: show the documents below to a Specialist.

Apple says screenshots or photos of the email with the QR code, or of the Wallet pass, are not accepted. On an iPhone you can add the pickup pass to the Wallet app, which keeps it at hand at the counter.
Someone else picking up
Only you or the person you named may collect the items. If you set a pickup contact, the order acknowledgement email shows that person's name, and they bring their own government photo ID along with the order number and the QR code or Wallet pass.
Emails, texts and reminders
Apple first sends an order acknowledgement listing your items and, for pickup items, the store you chose. A pickup notification follows when the items are available. If you add a mobile number at checkout, Apple also sends text updates with your order number and a link to the pickup store details. Apple says to expect 1 to 4 texts per item. You can follow the status of a pickup order on the Order Status page at any time.
If you do not pick it up
Apple tells you the date by which you need to collect the order and sends a reminder or two if the items are still waiting. If you never pick the order up, Apple may cancel it. The page does not give a fixed number of days, so read the date in your pickup email.
After pickup
Apple says the pickup emails also cover how to join a free online Personal Setup session with a Specialist and how to return trade-in devices. If the product is not right, returns go back to an Apple Store or by mail, free, within 14 days.
