Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Wayfair's Shipping Information and Cost help page, read on October 26, 2026. The official page is the one that applies, and the delivery options for a given item show on its product page and in the cart.

How long Wayfair shipping takes

Small parcels usually go by FedEx. Wayfair lists these time frames:

Shipping optionTime frame
One-Day ShippingWithin one business day, order filling included
Two-Day ShippingWithin two business days, order filling included
Ground ShippingOne to seven business days after the item leaves the supplier's warehouse

Ground time does not include the time to fill the order. Orders placed outside business hours ship the next day, and Wayfair says deliveries are not usually made on Saturday or Sunday. No signature is needed for small parcels, so the carrier decides whether to leave the box at your door. Small parcels are not brought inside.

How large items are delivered

If checkout asks you how and where an item should be delivered, it counts as a large item. Wayfair sends these through specialized carriers in five steps: you pick a delivery option, the item leaves the warehouse with a shipping email, a carrier takes it to a local delivery agent, that agent contacts you to set a date and time window, and the item arrives. Signatures are needed where stated. Assembly and packaging removal are not included unless the option says so.

Delivery levelWhat the team does
Basic outside front doorLeaves it outside the front door, porch or garage; you need not be home
Inside home entrancePlaces it just inside the entryway
BackyardBrings it to a backyard spot reachable without going through the house
Room of choiceCarries it to the room you pick
Full serviceRoom of choice, assembly and packaging removal

Delivery teams do not do plumbing, electrical wiring or work that needs power tools. Fees charged by a building or HOA, such as elevator or dock fees, are the customer's to pay.

What shipping costs

Wayfair says most orders ship free. Orders under $35 pay a flat $6.99. Some larger items may default to Full Service Delivery at $99.99, which you can downgrade. The page lists exceptions:

  • No shipping to P.O. boxes or military APOs.
  • Extra charges may apply for Alaska, Hawaii and U.S. territories.
  • Flooring and some large fixtures may not ship free.
  • Some suppliers require shipping fees, shown in the cart before checkout.

Storage, changes and rescheduling

Wayfair's delivery agencies can hold a large item for up to 15 days before delivery; after that it is scheduled for the next open date, and return fees apply if it is not delivered. Before an item ships, you can cancel, change the delivery method or update the address in My Orders. FedEx parcels in transit can be managed with FedEx Delivery Manager. For large items with other carriers, you can reschedule until 5am on the delivery day, using Track Your Package and then Reschedule in My Orders.
