Chewy Autoship Discounts, Explained
Chewy Autoship takes 35% off your first Autoship order, up to $20, then 5% off eligible items on every later Autoship order; change or cancel at any time.

Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Chewy's Autoship help pages and its Autoship and Save page, read on October 27, 2026. The official pages and the Autoship terms linked from them are the ones that apply; check the price in your cart before you confirm.
What Autoship is
Autoship is Chewy's repeat delivery program. You pick the items and how often they should arrive, and Chewy ships them on that schedule without a new checkout each time. Chewy says it sends a notice before it prepares each Autoship order, so you have a chance to change it first.
How much you save

Both discounts apply only to Autoship-eligible items, and Chewy notes that some exclusions apply. Its Autoship and Save page points to separate Autoship terms for the details, so a product page or the cart is the place to confirm that a given item qualifies. Your running total of Autoship savings shows in Manage Autoship in your account.
What the $20 cap means
The first-order discount stops growing once it reaches $20. Working from Chewy's own figures, 35% of an eligible order comes to $20 at about $57.14. Below that, you get the full 35%: a $40 first order would save $14. Above it, the saving stays at $20, so a $100 first order still saves $20, which is 20% of that order. After the first order, the 5% rate has no cap stated on these pages.
Changing or cancelling
Chewy says you can change, skip or cancel at any time. In Manage Autoship you can:
- move the next order date or change how often orders arrive
- order an item now, before the scheduled date
- skip the next order, or skip single items for one order
- add or remove items
- edit the shipping address or payment method
- cancel the Autoship at the bottom of the page, and start a new one later if you like
You can also change, reschedule or cancel by calling Chewy at 1-800-672-4399.
Other things Chewy lists
Chewy says Autoship customers get priority access to popular items and essentials, and that you can add one-time items to a scheduled order. Prescription medications and veterinary diet items are covered in a separate question on the Autoship page, so check that answer or ask Chewy before you set one up.
Who it suits
Autoship works best for pet supplies your pet goes through at a steady rate, such as food, litter or regular supplements. If you only reorder now and then, the skip and reschedule tools let you keep the 5% rate without receiving boxes you do not need yet.
