Dell Military Discount, Explained

Dell's military discount is part of a wider offer it calls the Heroes Purchase Program, which also covers first responders and healthcare workers. The rules below come from the program page and its FAQ on Dell.com, read on October 27, 2026. Dell can change its terms at any time, so check the official page before you buy.

Who qualifies

For the military group, the page names three kinds of members of the US Armed Forces:

• Active duty service members
• Veterans
• Retirees

The same program also accepts police officers, firefighters, EMTs and search and rescue workers, plus doctors, nurses and other eligible healthcare workers. The page does not mention spouses or other family members, so do not count on a family member being able to use your status.

How much you save

Dell advertises up to 10% extra off eligible items. The FAQ gives no fixed percentage for every product: the actual saving shows in your cart once you are verified, and Dell notes that exclusions may apply. "Up to" means some eligible items can get less than 10%.

The limits

The two-product, two-order cap matters if you plan to outfit a home office with Dell laptops and monitors or buy for several people: you get at most four discounted products a year under this program.

What is excluded

The FAQ lists exclusions that include certain PCs, electronics and accessories, warranties, gift cards, clearance and limited-quantity deals, and specific order codes. If an item shows no extra saving in the cart after you verify, it is probably on that list.

How to sign up and verify

1. Sign in to your Dell account, or create one.
2. Join Dell Rewards when you set up the account.
3. Open the membership tab, pick the Heroes program and complete verification with SheerID, a third-party service. Upload documents if SheerID asks for them.
4. Shop on Dell.com. Once you are verified, the discount applies by itself to eligible items in your cart.

Dell says verification is usually close to instant. When SheerID needs to review documents, Dell says it takes about 20 minutes. For a verification problem, use the SheerID Help Center; for a problem with a purchase or the discount amount, contact Dell.

Military discount or student discount?

Dell runs its student offer the same way: SheerID verification, up to 10% off, two products per order and two orders a year (see our Dell student discount page). The Heroes page does not say whether the two can be combined, so check your cart before you pay.
