Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Costco's Order Online Pickup in the Warehouse page and two customer service answers, read on October 26, 2026. The official pages are the ones that apply; check them before you order.
What you can pick up at a Costco warehouse
Costco offers warehouse pickup on a limited set of Costco.com items, not on the whole site. Its pickup page groups the eligible items like this:
| Category | Examples Costco lists |
|---|---|
| Computers | Laptops, tablets, hard drives and memory |
| Phones and wearables | Cell phones, wearable technology |
| Jewelry and watches | Watches, rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces |
Most other Costco.com items must ship to a home or business address. Costco's customer service answer on shipping to a warehouse says an eligible product shows a Warehouse Pick Up notice under the Add to Cart button. If shipping to your address is not possible, Costco asks you to contact customer service to look for a solution.
Who can collect the order
Costco sets two firm conditions:
- Only the person named on the bill-to credit card may pick up the order.
- That person must show a valid state or government-issued photo ID at pickup.
So someone else cannot collect an order paid on your card. Costco also says standard delivery time applies to warehouse pickup orders, so pickup is not a same-day service.
Is there Costco curbside pickup?
Costco's pickup page describes collection inside the warehouse, and none of the pages read for this article offers curbside pickup for Costco.com orders. For groceries the fast option is Same-Day Delivery powered by Instacart, which Costco's FAQ describes as delivery only:
- It is for members and available in most metropolitan areas; you enter your address to check.
- The order minimum is $35.
- Item prices are higher than in the warehouse, and that markup pays for the delivery.
- The Same-Day cart is separate from the Costco.com cart.
- Costco Shop Cards are not accepted.
- Refund requests go to Instacart within 7 days of delivery, or you can return items at a warehouse.
How long does Costco hold online orders?
Costco's pickup page and its customer service answers read for this article do not state how many days a pickup order is held at the warehouse. If you cannot collect on time, call the warehouse listed on your order or contact Costco customer service, and keep the order confirmation email.
Steps for a smooth pickup
- Check the product page for the Warehouse Pick Up notice before you buy.
- Choose your warehouse at checkout and pay with a card in your own name.
- Wait for the order to be ready, then bring the bill-to card holder and photo ID.
- Inspect the item at the warehouse; returns follow the Costco return policy, with 90 days for laptops, tablets and phones.
