Home Depot's shipping and delivery help pages on homedepot.com could not be read on October 26, 2026 (the site refused our requests). This summary, in our own words, is built from Home Depot's own August 18, 2026 press release and its annual report for fiscal 2025. The two express delivery fees come from news reports quoting a Home Depot spokesperson. Delivery fees and dates for your address show at checkout; those are the ones that apply.

How long Home Depot delivery takes
Express Delivery. Rolled out nationwide in August 2026, it ships from more than 2,000 U.S. stores and brings eligible orders in three hours or less. It covers thousands of everyday items in plumbing, electrical, hardware, paint and tools. Each product page and the cart show whether an item qualifies. Retail Dive and Supply Chain Dive both report a Home Depot spokesperson as saying the fee is $7 in most major markets and $10 in Los Angeles.
Free same-day delivery. Orders of $25 or more placed by 4 p.m. qualify, per the press release.
The delivery center network. Thousands of items in categories such as lighting, vanities, decor and building materials ship from a network of delivery centers working with local stores, as quickly as the same day. Home Depot says this network gets more than 65% of in-stock parcel items to customers the same or next day, and about 55% of in-stock big and bulky orders within two days.
Appliance delivery
Home Depot says next-day major appliance delivery reaches 60% of the U.S. population on key items such as refrigerators, washers and dryers. The release does not give an appliance delivery fee, so check the cart for your ZIP code. Installation of the appliance is a separate service; see Home Depot installation services.
Ways to get an online order
Home Depot's annual report lists the store-based options for online orders:
- Buy online, pick up in store, with curbside pickup and self-service lockers at the front of many stores.
- Buy online, ship to store.
- Buy online, deliver from store, including car and van delivery from most U.S. stores.
- Buy online, return in store.
The report says about half of Home Depot's U.S. online orders in fiscal 2025 were fulfilled through a store.
Before you order
- Check the delivery date and fee in the cart; they depend on the item, the store and your address.
- Look for the Express Delivery label on the product page if you need an item within hours.
- For returns of delivered items, see the Home Depot return policy.
