Dick's Sporting Goods Order Pickup, Explained
Dick's holds a store pickup order for four days, with one four-day extension, and most orders are ready about an hour after you place them.

How Dick's pickup works
Dick's offers free pickup of online orders in two ways: curbside, where an associate brings the order to your car, or in store at a dedicated Order Pickup area. You choose a store and the Store Pickup option when you buy, as long as the item shows as available at that store. The product page shows this just above the Add to Cart button once you have set a store, size and color.
Dick's sends a confirmation email after you order and a second email when the order is ready. If you have opted in to text messages, you also get order alerts by text.

Dick's calls every pickup time an estimate and says it does not guarantee that an order will be ready at a specific time.
How long Dick's holds your order
You have four days from the time you place the order to pick it up. If you need more time, Dick's lets you extend the window once, by another four days, through the text or email it sends. Orders not picked up within the window are cancelled and you are not charged. A temporary authorization hold may still appear on your account until your bank releases it.
What to bring and what to do on arrival
Bring two things: a valid driver's license or photo ID, and the Ready for Pickup email, printed or on your phone. At the store, use the check-in link in that email or text, choose curbside or in store, and enter the details that help staff find you. For curbside, park in the signed pickup spots.
Someone else picking up
At checkout, tick the box to add an additional person to the pickup order. You and that person both get the ready email, and either of you can collect the order.
Items you cannot order for pickup
Dick's says some products must be bought in the store, including firearms and ammunition. You can still check a store's stock online.
Cancelling a pickup order
Dick's gives you 30 minutes after ordering to cancel. Log in to your account or use the Order Tracking page, and a Cancel Order button appears if the order still qualifies. The whole order is cancelled. If the store has already started on it, you can simply not pick it up and it cancels after four days, or call the store and ask them to cancel it.
Returning a pickup order
You can return a pickup purchase in store with your confirmation email, at the curb by calling the store from the parking lot and having the receipt or order number ready, or by mail with a return label you create online. See the Dick's return policy for time limits.
