Mattress Firm Return Policy and Sleep Trial
Mattress Firm's 120 Night Sleep Trial allows one exchange and one return within 120 days of delivery, after 30 nights, with a $249.99 charge each time.

Mattress Firm asks for the 30 nights because a body needs time to adjust to a new mattress. Its page says this usually takes around three weeks.
Exchange first, then return
The trial runs in two steps. You may exchange the mattress once: you pay the $249.99 charge, and the purchase price of the original mattress counts as credit toward a different one. If the exchange mattress still does not suit you, you can return it, again with the $249.99 charge, and get back the purchase price of that exchange mattress. The refund is also reduced by any state use taxes Mattress Firm must apply. The page says the charge does not apply in Hawaii.
What the trial does not cover
- Clearance, outlet and preowned items
- Floor and display models
- Pillows and mattress protectors
- Adjustable bases, except TEMPUR-ActiveBreeze Smart Bed bases
- Furniture and other accessories
- Special order sizes such as California King, Split Cal King, three quarter, crib and futon, which are final sale (in California, the two California King sizes are not special order)
- Warranty replacement products, which fall under the maker's warranty
Condition at pickup
When a mattress comes back under the trial, the delivery drivers inspect it and its foundation before they take it. A bed that is stained, unsanitary, damaged, missing its original white law tags or contaminated with insects cannot be exchanged or refunded, and drivers will not remove a contaminated bed. Removing the law tag voids the trial, so Mattress Firm suggests a waterproof protector and keeping all tags on.

Refunds go to the purchasing customer named on the receipt. If you got a gift with purchase and then return the qualifying mattress, Mattress Firm may take the value of the gift out of your refund.
Before you start a return
Count your nights and your days: at least 30 nights on the mattress, and the request inside 120 days from delivery, not from the order date.
