Stores That Accept Apple Pay and Where EBT Works
Target, Costco and IKEA list Apple Pay in stores, and Target and IKEA online too; Walmart is adding it through Tap to Pay by the end of 2026.

Payment options change, and they can differ between a store, its gas station and its website. This page sums up, in our own words, what each store's own payment page said on October 26, 2026. Check the store's page before you count on a payment method.

Target
Target lists Apple Pay among mobile payments in its stores, next to Google Pay and Samsung Pay, and lists Apple Pay for Target.com and the Target app as well.
Costco
Costco's list of accepted payments names Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay at its warehouses. At Costco gas stations, Apple Pay is the only phone wallet listed. The Costco.com list names none of them.
IKEA
IKEA's US payment page lists a mobile wallet option in stores (Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay) and online (Apple Pay and Google Pay).
Walmart
Walmart's Tap to Pay FAQ says it began adding Tap to Pay at select stores and Sam's Club locations on August 24, with plans to reach all US stores and clubs by the end of 2026 and fuel stations by mid 2027. With it, Walmart names Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay and Garmin Pay. Your wallet's default card is the one charged, and phone wallets do not work with Scan and Go. Until your store has Tap to Pay, expect cards, cash or Walmart Pay instead. Walmart's online payment list does not include Apple Pay.
Stores that accept EBT online
SNAP EBT online works only at retailers and in states approved by the USDA. The USDA's SNAP online page shows the participating retailers state by state, and it says SNAP benefits cannot pay for delivery, service or convenience fees of any kind.

Target says SNAP EBT online cannot be combined with split payments or used for Target Plus partner items. Walmart says you add the card to your Walmart wallet, filter for items with the SNAP EBT badge, and pay the rest of the order another way. Dollar General adds that it charges no extra fee for SNAP purchases in its stores.
Tips before you pay
- Check the exact place. Costco takes Apple Pay at the warehouse but does not list it for Costco.com.
- Have a backup card at Walmart until Tap to Pay reaches your store.
- For SNAP online, check the USDA's map for your state first, then plan a second payment for fees.
