Stores That Price Match Amazon
Best Buy and Staples name Amazon on their own price match lists; Target now matches only its own prices. Here are the rules each store posts.
On this page

Found an item cheaper on Amazon but want to buy it locally today? A few stores will match the Amazon price if the offer meets their rules. This page sums up, in our own words, the price match pages of three stores, read on October 26, 2026. We list only stores whose official pages we read. Policies change, and the store page is the one that applies.
Who matches Amazon
| Store | Matches Amazon? | Key limits |
|---|---|---|
| Best Buy | Yes, Amazon is on its Qualified Competitors list | Identical new item, immediately available; no third-party sellers |
| Staples stores | Yes, Amazon.com is an In-Store Qualifying Competitor | Identical, new, in stock; one match per product per customer per day |
| Staples.com | Yes, Amazon.com is a Staples.com Qualifying Competitor | Request by phone at 1-800-333-3330 |
| Target | No; its policy covers only Target prices | Target.com, Target stores and Target Circle deals |
Best Buy
Best Buy's Qualified Competitors list names Amazon next to 18 other retailers, including Walmart, Target, Costco and B&H Photo Video. The Amazon offer must be for the same brand, model number and color, new, and immediately available to ship or pick up. Best Buy does not match items sold or shipped by third-party sellers on a competitor's site, so an Amazon listing from an outside seller does not count. It also excludes prices open only to members of a paid program, limited-quantity and out-of-stock offers, coupons, and competitor prices from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after. In a store, show the live Amazon page to an employee; for a BestBuy.com order, use chat or call 1-888-237-8289. Best Buy matches the pre-tax price, and you can use a coupon or a price match, not both. More in the Best Buy price adjustment guide.
Staples
Staples lists Amazon.com as a qualifying competitor both for its stores and for Staples.com. The item has to be identical down to brand, size, color, model number and warranty, new and in stock. In a store, Staples accepts a screenshot if it shows the full offer clearly. Marketplace products from third-party sellers on Amazon are excluded, and Staples matches the pre-tax price. Read the Staples price match guide for the other rules.
Target
Target's current policy matches lower prices found at Target.com, in Target stores or through Target Circle deals. Its page does not name any outside retailer, so an Amazon price will not qualify there.
Tips for an Amazon match
- Check who sells it. Both stores require the offer to be sold by Amazon itself, not by a third-party seller.
- Match the exact model. Brand, model number and color must be identical.
- Watch the stock status. Both stores want the item in stock; Best Buy also skips limited-quantity offers.
- Skip member-only prices. Best Buy excludes prices that need a paid membership.
- Avoid Thanksgiving week. Best Buy does not match competitor prices from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the following Monday.
