Store programs change. This is a summary in our own words of Sweetwater's warranty page and its Service and Support help page, read on October 27, 2026. The official pages are the ones that apply; check them before you rely on the coverage.
What the warranty is
Sweetwater calls it Total Confidence Coverage. It is a free warranty of 2 years (24 months) that Sweetwater says comes with nearly every product it sells, at no extra cost and with nothing to sign up for. It is Sweetwater's own warranty, not a manufacturer program, and your purchase counts as accepting its terms.
How it fits with the manufacturer warranty
Sweetwater says its coverage does not change or weaken any manufacturer warranty, however long that warranty is. You can still deal with the manufacturer directly within the maker's own warranty period, and that does not affect Sweetwater's 2 years. Some products sold at Sweetwater carry no manufacturer warranty at all; the page says most do.
What it covers
The warranty covers a product that malfunctions under normal operating conditions. Sweetwater stresses that it is not a "no-fault" plan:
| Covered | Not covered |
|---|---|
| Malfunctions in normal use | Normal wear and tear, or abuse |
| Drums and drum hardware, for manufacturer defects | Consumables such as strings, bulbs, drumheads, batteries and tubes |
| Power conditioners and surge protectors, repaired if defective | Gear connected to those products |
| Software in any form, and data recovery from drives | |
| Apple products and AppleCare | |
| Products sold as used |
The page also excludes cymbals and their stands and cases, reeds, mouthpieces, picks, sticks, sheet music, plug-ins and a long list of other accessories, and it names the Solid State Logic AWS 948 as not covered. Read the full exclusion list on the page if you buy accessories or percussion.
Sweetwater says it is not responsible for lost work, studio time or wages while gear is down or in for repair. It also keeps the right to accept or reject any warranty claim and to change the terms.
How to make a claim
- Contact Sweetwater, through your Sales Engineer or the SweetCare Center at 1-800-222-4700.
- Ship the gear to Sweetwater, not to the manufacturer.
- Pay shipping both ways: Sweetwater says you cover the cost to send it in and the cost of sending it back.
Sweetwater says its on-site service department is factory authorized for most of what it sells. When a manufacturer insists on doing the repair itself, Sweetwater handles the contact with the maker.
Limits to know
- The coverage is not transferable. If you sell the gear, the buyer does not get it.
- Used gear is covered only by Sweetwater's separate 90-day Used Gear Guarantee.
- For Apple products, Sweetwater points buyers to Apple's own AppleCare+ plans.
