The short answer
Yes. In a press release dated July 23, 2026, Academy Sports + Outdoors says it offers a Price Match Guarantee every day and beats competitor prices by 5%. So if a qualifying competitor sells an item for less, Academy does not just match that price: it goes 5% under it.

What is excluded
The sources that list exclusions agree that clearance prices do not qualify. They also leave out limited-time events and similar short promotions. Treat any timed sale or special offer as unlikely to qualify, and ask before you buy.
The 14-day price adjustment
Separate from matching a competitor, sources report that Academy will adjust the price if its own price on an item drops within 14 days of your purchase. Clearance and special offer prices are reported as not eligible for adjustment either.
How to ask for a match
- In store: bring the competitor ad or a screenshot to an associate before you pay, and check the item is in stock at that store.
