B&H Photo Price Match Policy, Explained

Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of B&H Photo's Price Match page, read on October 26, 2026. The official page is the one that applies; check it before you ask for a match.

Does B&H price match?

Sometimes. B&H says it shops the market to keep its prices competitive, and that when a competitor has a lower price, your purchase may qualify for a match. It is a request that B&H reviews, not an automatic guarantee, so the answer depends on the item and the offer you bring.

The short version

Which items qualify

The B&H page only names one product condition: the lower price must be for an item that is immediately available. In practice that means a competitor's preorder price, or an offer on something that is out of stock or backordered, is not what the policy describes. The page also refers to an identical item, so compare the exact model, kit and color, not a near match.

How to ask for a match

1. Find the offer. Note the competitor, the product, the price and a link to the listing.
2. Contact B&H. Reach the Product Specialist Team by live chat, by email, or by phone at 800.606.6969 or 212.444.6615. B&H says to include all the relevant details.
3. Wait for the answer. B&H only promises to match if it is able to. If it approves the request, it emails you a purchase link.
4. Buy the same day. The link stays valid only through the end of the business day, so be ready to check out quickly.

Because requests go through staff, ask during business hours. A request sent when the team is not working may only be answered later, and the competitor's price could change by then.

Limits to keep in mind

• One match per identical item per customer. If you want several units, ask B&H how the limit applies before you order.
• No promise of a match. The page says a purchase may be eligible, and that B&H will email a link only if it can match.
• Short window. The purchase link expires at the end of the business day it is sent.

The page does not list which competitors count, which sellers are excluded, or whether B&H refunds the difference if a price drops after you buy. If any of these matter to you, ask the Product Specialist Team in the same chat or email before you place the order.

Tips before you ask

• Bring a direct link to the competitor's listing, not just a screenshot of a search result.
• Check that the competitor's item is in stock and shipping now.
• Compare the full package: some camera and lens listings include extras such as batteries or memory cards that change what counts as identical.
• Ask about the match before you buy, since the approved price arrives as a new purchase link.
