Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of the Returns pages in Hobby Lobby's customer service FAQ, read on October 27, 2026. The official pages are the ones that apply; check them before you take anything back.

The 90-day rule

Hobby Lobby gives you 90 days from purchase to return an item, in stores and online. What you get back depends on whether you have the receipt.

SituationWhat Hobby Lobby offers
Store purchase, with the original receiptExchange, store credit, or a refund to the original payment method
Store purchase paid by checkA 10-day wait for the refund, or merchandise credit right away
Store purchase, no receiptExchange or merchandise credit at the lowest selling price of the last 60 days; valid ID required
Online order returned to a storeCredit on a Hobby Lobby gift card; bring the invoice to get the full price
Online order mailed backRefund of the price and sales tax to the card you used, or a gift card if you paid with one

Hobby Lobby says it can limit or refuse returns of certain products and of items without a receipt.

What cannot go back

  • Cricut machines and sewing machines (except the Singer Stitch Quick) can only be returned or exchanged with the original receipt and in new, unopened condition.
  • Opened or used items from online orders cannot be returned; the item must be in sellable condition.
  • Warranty claims go to the manufacturer, not to Hobby Lobby.

Online orders: the extra rules

  • Big items. Any single line on an order that totals $250 or more counts as a bulk purchase and must be returned to hobbylobby.com, not a store. Christmas trees, furniture and wall decor priced over $250 each are exempt from that limit.
  • Seasonal bulk items. Seasonal items from a bulk purchase, from Christmas and Valentine's Day through Back-to-School and Fall, may carry a 20% restocking fee.
  • Damaged, defective or wrong items cannot go back to a store. Call Hobby Lobby customer service at 1-800-888-0321 (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm Central) or use the contact form before returning anything, and keep the item and its shipping box.
  • Shipping costs are not credited unless the return is Hobby Lobby's mistake and cannot be handled at a store.
  • Price adjustments on online purchases cannot be done in stores.

How to mail a return

  1. Fill in Hobby Lobby's return form.
  2. Pack it with the item and ship it to the returns address in Oklahoma City listed on the online returns page. You pay the return shipping.
  3. Allow up to two weeks for the return to be processed and the refund issued.

There is no direct online exchange. To swap an item bought online, place a new order for the item you want and return the one you do not, for a refund.

Before you go

Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sundays, so plan a return trip for Monday through Saturday. Our store hours guide has the details.
