Academy's own website could not be read when we checked on October 26, 2026: academy.com showed a bot check instead of its pages. Everything below is as reported by military and deal sites that agree with each other, not read on Academy's site. Confirm with Academy, at the register or at online checkout, before you count on the discount.
The short answer
Academy Sports + Outdoors does have a military discount, but sources describe it as seasonal, not an everyday program. When it runs, the reported discount is 10% off the purchase, in stores and online.
When it runs
The Military Wallet, updated October 12, 2026, says Academy does not run the offer all year and that it tends to show up around Memorial Day, Independence Day and Veterans Day. Other reports fit that pattern:
| Window | What was reported | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Military Appreciation Month 2025 | 10% off the entire purchase, in store or online, through July 4 | Mission Roll Call, May 2025 |
| Veterans Day 2026 | 10% off in store and online for military and first responders | Hip2Save, October 22, 2026; The Military Wallet, October 12, 2026 |
No source we found lists exact start dates for every window, and The Military Wallet notes that timelines can change. Outside these promotions, do not expect the 10% at checkout.
Who qualifies
The two 2026 sources agree the Veterans Day offer covers:
- Active duty service members.
- Veterans of all branches, plus Reserve and National Guard members.
- First responders.
How to use it
Expect to prove your service: the sources say to have a military ID or other proof ready when you redeem the offer. Some items may be left out of a promotion, so read the terms of the offer you are using before you shop, and ask at the register or check the cart online.
Other ways to save at Academy
If the military discount is not running, Academy's price match may still help: the company says it beats competitor prices by 5%. See Academy price match policy for the reported rules. For other stores, see military discounts at other stores.
