Lenovo Student Discount, Explained

Lenovo gives verified college students and school staff an extra 5 percent off eligible products for a year, after a .edu email or ID.me check.

Lenovo runs its student discount through a verified Lenovo Education account on Lenovo.com, where it sells Lenovo laptops and Lenovo desktops. The rules below come from Lenovo's US education page, its Discount Programs page, the student deals page and the Shopping FAQ, all read on October 27, 2026. Lenovo can change its terms, so check the official pages before you buy.

How much you save

Lenovo's education page says students and educators save an additional 5 percent, and the account banner on the same page describes it as 5 percent off sitewide with a verified Lenovo Education account. The student deals section of the same page repeats it: verified students get an extra 5 percent off.

The Discount Programs page adds that exclusions apply on select new and discounted products, so not every item in your cart will take the extra 5 percent.

Who qualifies

Lenovo's pages describe the group in slightly different words:

Lenovo pageWho it names
Education page bannerCollege students and school employees with a valid .edu email address or ID.me verification
Discount Programs pageCollege or university students and teachers, including incoming students with a letter of acceptance
Shopping FAQK-12 and college students, plus educators

Because the wording differs, a K-12 student or a staff member without a .edu address should try the verification step and see whether it passes, rather than assume.

How to get it

  1. Create or sign in to a Lenovo account. Lenovo asks students to register with their school email.
  2. Verify your status. The education page offers a Verify Now button, and the Discount Programs page says verification runs through ID.me in the cart. A .edu email address is the other route the banner names.
  3. Shop as usual. Once the account is verified, Lenovo says discounts are applied automatically to eligible products.

How long it lasts

Lenovo says a verified Lenovo Education account unlocks its benefits for one year: verify once, then shop with the discount for a full year. Besides the discount, the account gives access to exclusive specials and to the Lenovo EDU Community, which Lenovo describes as a place for expert advice, content and connections.

Limits worth knowing

  • Quantity. The fine print on the student deals page sets a limit of 5 per customer for the offers on that page, and says Lenovo may raise or lower limits for some products.
  • US only. The same fine print says the offers are valid from Lenovo in the US only.
  • Prices change. Lenovo says offers, prices and availability may change without notice, and it may cancel an order with a pricing or typographic error.

When the discount does not show

Check that you are signed in to the verified account, that your verification went through, and that the item is not one of the excluded new or discounted products. Lenovo applies the discount to eligible products only, so a cart can hold a mix of discounted and full-price items.

Summary

Verify once with a .edu email or ID.me, and Lenovo takes an extra 5 percent off eligible products for a year. Read the exclusions in the cart before you pay, and check the deals page limits if you are buying more than one of the same item.
