Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of Lowe's Help Center, its Credit and Lease-to-Own Center, its Terms of Use and its Returns page, read on October 26, 2026, plus two trade news reports on the Affirm partnership announced on February 17, 2026. The official pages are the ones that apply; check them before you pay.

Cards and gift cards

Lowe's Terms of Use say you can save debit cards, credit cards, Lowe's gift cards and Lowe's own accounts in your Lowes.com account. The Help Center says a failed online payment can be replaced with a Lowe's card, a gift card or another credit card.

Lowe's offers these cards and accounts of its own:

  • MyLowe's Rewards Credit Card
  • MyLowe's Pro Rewards American Express Card and MyLowe's Pro Rewards Credit Card
  • Lowe's Commercial Account
  • PreLoad Plus Mastercard

The MyLowe's Rewards Credit Card gives 5% off every day on eligible purchases, subject to credit approval, and that discount does not stack with most other offers.

Pay by Bank

Pay by Bank takes money straight from a checking or savings account, with no card. Trustly runs it for Lowe's. You choose Pay by Bank at checkout, pick your bank, sign in to it, choose the account and place the order. Lowe's says most major US banks work, there is no extra fee, guest checkout is allowed, and limits depend on your bank.

Paying over time

  • Affirm: Lowe's and Affirm announced a partnership on February 17, 2026. We could not open the announcement itself, so this is as reported by PYMNTS and Hardware Retailing, which agree: eligible shoppers can choose Affirm at checkout on Lowes.com or in the Lowe's app and split a purchase into biweekly or monthly payments. Neither report mentions stores. Confirm at checkout.
  • Lease-to-own: Lowe's offers lease-to-own through Progressive Leasing on select items. No credit history is needed, but not everyone is approved, the lease costs more than the cash price, and it is not offered in Minnesota, New Jersey or Wisconsin.

The Lowe's app Wallet

In stores, the Wallet in the Lowe's app shows one QR code at the register that applies your offers, coupons, rewards and saved payment methods, such as Lowe's gift cards, credit cards and debit cards.

Apple Pay, PayPal and Afterpay

The Lowe's pages we could read do not name Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or Afterpay. The Terms of Use only mention adding third-party digital wallets and "other available payment methods" to your account. Third-party guides give conflicting answers on these, so we do not state one. Look at the payment options shown at Lowes.com checkout, or ask at the register before you rely on them.
