Store policies change. This is a summary in our own words of the Target Circle terms on Target's Current promotions help page, read on October 26, 2026. That page is the one that applies; check it before you count on a discount.

Where Target coupons come from

Most Target savings now live inside Target Circle, the free loyalty program. The terms describe four kinds of offers:

OfferWhat it isHow it applies
Target Circle DealsTarget's own member discounts on an item, a category or the whole storeMany apply on their own when you identify as a member
Target Circle BonusesPersonal offers for extra savings or for Target Circle RewardsMust be activated first
Digital manufacturer couponsBrand coupons offered through Target CircleMust be activated first
Paper manufacturer couponsBrand coupons you bring inHanded over at checkout

Can you stack Target coupons?

Yes, within set limits. For any single item, the terms allow:

  • One item-level Target Circle Deal and one category-level Target Circle Deal.
  • Storewide deals and Target Circle Bonuses on top of those item and category offers.
  • No more than one manufacturer coupon, paper or digital, combined with the other discounts, unless an offer says otherwise.

That last rule is the one that trips people up. A digital manufacturer coupon in Target Circle does not stack with a paper manufacturer coupon for the same product; you use one or the other.

Rules for Target Circle coupons

  • Single use. Each digital manufacturer coupon works once per Target Circle account.
  • Activate before you pay. Only coupons on your Target Circle Deals page at the time of purchase count. If you print your list and a coupon expires or is canceled first, it is no longer valid.
  • How to redeem in store. Scan the Wallet in the Target app, show a printout of your barcode, or enter the phone number on your account. Target does not accept a photo of a barcode.
  • Online. Sign in to your account before checkout on Target.com or in the app.
  • Percentage offers vary. Savings on a percent-off deal depend on each store's price.

Expiry and other limits

Target Circle Deals and Bonuses expire at 11:59 PM Pacific on the stated date unless the offer says otherwise. A deal cannot be worth more than the item, has no cash value, and does not apply to past purchases. Some deals cap the number of items per transaction or uses per member, and some are valid only in store or only online, as stated in each offer.

Coupons and price matching

Target Circle Deals and Target Circle Bonuses cannot be used together with a competitor price match. If you plan to ask for a match, compare the matched price with the deal price and pick the lower one.

Coupons and returns

If you return an item from an order where you redeemed Target Circle Rewards, the terms say the redeemed rewards go back to your balance, up to the value of the returned item, and the rest follows the Target return policy.
