When Macy's Has Sales, Through the Year
Macy's builds its year around Black Friday in November, Black Friday in July and recurring One Day Sales; its 2025 Black Friday ran in stages from November 2.

Sale dates change every year, and macys.com could not be read when we checked on October 26, 2026 (it returned an access denied page). The Black Friday schedule below comes from Macy's own press release of November 6, 2025, read on a news wire copy. The rest is as reported by news and deal sites, listed at the end. Confirm dates in the Macy's app or on macys.com before you plan around them.
Black Friday: the big one
Macy's 2025 press release laid out Black Friday as a run of events through November:

The same release said stores were closed on Thanksgiving Day, with shopping still open on macys.com and the app, and that stores reopened on Black Friday with hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., varying by location.
In 2026, Thanksgiving falls on Thursday, November 26, so Black Friday is November 27. When we checked, we had not found a Macy's announcement of its 2026 Black Friday schedule. If it follows the 2025 pattern, deals start well before the day itself, but that is a pattern, not a promise.
Black Friday in July
Macy's also runs a summer event under the Black Friday name. Good Morning America (July 23, 2026) and CouponFollow both report that the 2026 edition ran through Sunday, July 26.
One Day Sales
One Day Sales are short events that come back several times a year, according to DealHack and CouponFollow. CouponFollow describes them as roughly monthly and often lasting about two days, despite the name. Neither source gives a fixed calendar, and Macy's announces them close to the date, so the app and the Macy's email list are the practical way to catch them.
Friends and Family
DealHack lists Friends and Family among Macy's seasonal sales, and CouponFollow says it now runs several times a year. CouponFollow places events in spring, early summer and a fall one around late October to early November, but those dates are its own estimates for the rest of the year.
Other times to look
DealHack also points to holiday sales around Christmas and New Year and to clearance and Last Act markdowns, which change often and follow no schedule.
