Home Depot Coupon Policy, Explained
What can be confirmed about Home Depot coupons in 2026, the $5 sign-up offer and the military discount, and what is only rumor, like moving coupons.
On this page

Home Depot's coupon policy page on homedepot.com could not be read on October 26, 2026 (the site refused our requests), and no other official Home Depot page we could load states coupon rules. The facts below are, unless marked otherwise, as reported by recent third-party coupon and deal sites that agree with each other. Treat them as reported, not as official policy, and confirm with the store or the coupon's own fine print before you count on a discount.
What can be confirmed
| Offer | What it is | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Email or text sign-up | $5 off an in-store purchase of $50 or more | Two deal sites, 2026 |
| Military discount | 10% off eligible full-priced, non-appliance items | Home Depot newsroom |
The $5 sign-up coupon
DealHack (updated October 2026) and Small Business Trends (February 2026) both report that signing up for Home Depot's emails or text alerts gets you $5 off a later in-store purchase of $50 or more. DealHack adds that the coupon applies to eligible merchandise and has exclusions. Small Business Trends gave an end date of September 1, 2026 for the offer it described, which has passed, so check whether a current version is running when you sign up.
The military discount
This one is official. Home Depot's newsroom describes a 10% military discount on full-priced, non-appliance merchandise. DealHack reports that active-duty service members, veterans and their spouses get it on eligible purchases in stores and online. See Home Depot military discount for how to sign up and the reported yearly cap.
What could not be confirmed
Moving coupons. People often search for a Home Depot moving coupon, but no source from 2025 or 2026 that we could find confirms that one is offered today. If you receive one, its own printed terms are what count.
Competitor coupons. No official or recent reliable source states whether Home Depot accepts coupons from Lowe's or other stores. Ask your store before you rely on it.
Stacking. Small Business Trends says the sign-up coupon can be combined with other promotions, but not with Special Buy of the Day discounts. DealHack does not say whether it stacks, and neither site covers the military discount, so no firm rule is given here. Check the coupon's terms or ask at the register.
Exclusions. Coupon sites list exclusions that vary from coupon to coupon. The printed terms on each coupon are the ones that apply.
How to make a coupon work
- Read the fine print first: minimum spend, end date, in-store or online, and excluded brands or departments.
- Bring the coupon, or have the barcode open on your phone, before you reach the register.
- If a coupon is refused, ask the store which term it failed instead of trying it on a different item.
- Compare the coupon with Home Depot's seasonal sale events; see Home Depot sales calendar.
