Store programs change. This is a summary in our own words of the IKEA Family page, its Rewards page and the IKEA Family FAQ on ikea.com/us, read on October 27, 2026. The official pages are the ones that apply; check them before you rely on a benefit.
Who can join and what it costs
IKEA Family is IKEA's loyalty program in the US, and joining is free. The FAQ says anyone over 18 with a valid email address can sign up. It is a loyalty card only, not a credit card: the IKEA Visa and IKEA Projekt cards are separate products. The card is personal, so a partner needs an account of their own.
Your member number sits at the bottom of every IKEA Family email and in your profile, and you can add a digital card to an Apple or Android mobile wallet. Store cashiers cannot look the number up by phone number, so bring the card or the email.
How points work
Members collect points and trade them for rewards. IKEA says point collection began on May 14, 2025.
| Action | Points |
|---|---|
| Every $1 spent, in store or online | 1 |
| Creating an IKEA Family profile | 50 |
| Logging in online or in the IKEA app | 25 |
| Saving a wish list with at least one product | 25 |
| Saving a Kitchen Planner or IKEA Kreativ design | 25 |
| Attending a qualifying consultation or planning appointment | 50 |
| Attending a qualifying IKEA Family event | 50 |
Apart from purchases and creating the profile, each activity counts once per week. Points can take up to 72 hours to show up. The rewards you can unlock are listed only after you log in.
The main benefits
- Member prices: year-round IKEA Family offers on select products, marked with blue labels in store.
- 90-day price protection: if an eligible product drops in price within 90 days, IKEA refunds the difference. Products only; services are excluded. See IKEA Price Protection.
- Delivery savings: lower prices on large item delivery options, and $5 off qualifying small orders over $35 in the continental US.
- Free store pickup: since April 15, 2026, Collect at IKEA is free for members at IKEA branded stores.
- Buy Back and Resell: store credit for used IKEA furniture at participating stores.
- As-is online: members can browse and reserve their store's As-is items online.
- Extras: a free coffee or tea on each visit, a birthday treat and free workshops and events.
Welcome offer and coupons
New members who opt in to marketing emails and verify their email get a QR code coupon for a discount on a first in-store purchase. It is valid for 90 days, in participating US stores only, once per new account, and it excludes food, services, gift cards and Click and Collect. The FAQ says IKEA Family coupons are for in-store use only and work when you scan both the card and the coupon.
Tips for members
- Scan your card or sign in every time, even on full-price items. That is what makes a purchase count for points and price protection.
- Opt in to emails if you want offers; IKEA says most rewards and offers arrive that way.
- You can delete your profile at any time from the IKEA Family account page.
