Does Walmart Have a Military Discount?

Walmart lists no military discount in its help center; its closest offer is Walmart+ Assist, a cheaper plan for people with a Veterans and Survivors Pension.

Store offers change. This is a summary in our own words of what we found on October 26, 2026, in Walmart's help center at walmart.com and in Walmart's corporate policy page, plus two recent third-party guides. Check with Walmart before you count on any saving.

The short answer

We found no military discount program in Walmart's own pages. The walmart.com help center has topics for payments, returns, Walmart+ plans and policies, and none of them is a military or veteran discount. The policy collection at corporate.walmart.com, which holds the coupon, price match and return policies, has no military discount section either.

Walmart does not say in writing that it has no such discount, so the plain "no" comes from outside guides. Two of them agree:

SourceWhat it saysUpdated
Operation Military KidsNo standard military discount for service members, veterans, retirees, reservists, Guard members or spousesJuly 29, 2026
The Senior ListWalmart does not offer a military discountJanuary 16, 2026

Since these are not Walmart pages, treat them as reports and ask at your store or through Walmart's chat if you want to be sure.

The closest thing: Walmart+ Assist

Walmart's help center describes Walmart+ Assist, a lower price on the Walmart+ membership for people in certain government aid programs. One of the qualifying programs on Walmart's list is the Veterans and Survivors Pension Benefit. Others include SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, SSI and the Federal Pell Grant.

Walmart+ Assist detailWhat Walmart says
Annual fee$49 plus tax
Monthly fee$6.47 plus tax
How you prove itA SheerID check during sign up
How long it lastsVerified for one year, then checked again

Walmart also notes that not every government program qualifies. Military service on its own is not on the list; the pension benefit is. Operation Military Kids makes the same point and adds that VA disability pay and GI Bill benefits do not count by themselves.

For comparison, Walmart's September 2026 announcement gives the regular Walmart+ price as $98 a year (see our Walmart+ benefits summary), so the Assist annual fee is half.

Sam's Club is separate

Walmart owns Sam's Club, and Operation Military Kids reports that Sam's Club runs its own military membership offer for active duty members, veterans, retirees, civilian military staff and spouses. That is a Sam's Club offer, not a Walmart store discount, and its terms are set by Sam's Club.
